DG4244 Port Forwarding

Port forwarding allows you to open specific ports on the DG4244 so that incoming traffic from the internet can be directed to a specific device on your local network. This can be useful for services such as game servers, security cameras, or self-hosted applications.

Port forwarding is available only when the modem is operating in routed mode. In bridge mode, traffic passes through the modem without Network Address Translation (NAT), so port forwarding rules are not managed by the modem.

Add a Port Forwarding Service

1. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.0.1.
2. Log in with your admin credentials.
3. In the left-hand menu, click Advanced, then select Port Forwarding.
4. Click Enable to turn on port forwarding (it's disabled by default).
5. Click + Add Service to create a new rule.
6. Fill in the following fields for the rule:
   1. Service Name: A label to identify the rule (e.g., "Security Camera")
   2. Type Protocol: TCP, UDP, or both.
   3. Start Port / End Port: The port or port range to forward.
   4. Server IPv4 / Server IPv6: The local IP address of the device the traffic should be sent to.
   5. Active Toggle: to enable/disable this specific rule.
7. Save the rule. It will now appear in the Port Forwarding table.
8. Repeat steps 5–7 for any additional services you need to forward.
