To find the speed of your DSL connection, try this web site:

http://www.speedtest.net

and click on 'Begin test'. It will time how long it takes to download and upload test files to their site to tell you the speed of your connection.

It's normal that the download speed be much faster than the upload speed. This is intentional, so that you are able to download big files quickly.

Normal, good results for 5Mb/s service would be something like 5 Mb/s down, and about 600 Kb/s up.

If your results are not as good as you'd like, maybe ask around your neighbourhood to find out what others are getting -- that will an indication of how well your neighbourhood is being served by Bell. If your speeds are out of line, maybe check Troubleshooting (DSL) for ideas on what to check at your location that might improve performance.
